The newly created folder is protected but the original folder is still there, unchanged and unprotected. Even if you keep the same folder name, it will just create a password protected folder with the same name, with the. This way you can close the folder your'e working in whilst leaving yourself logged in to your machine, leave your machine going for that coffee and the folder cannot be accessed by any one passing by your machine whilst it's unattended, unless you left the password hanging around on a bit of paper.Īs others may have discovered the hard way, this doesn't actually protect the original folder.
